After a negative news item appears on the web about Elon Musk, one can expect Wallace's Inside Automotive to soon link to it.
It may be seem odd that such a successful proponent (Musk) of electric automobiles would be under constant criticism by a proponent (Wallace) of the automotive industry.
Musk’s cardinal sin is that his automobile company Tesla operates with corporate owned dealerships. This prevents Wallace’s buddies from acquiring a Tesla dealership. So, there is no middleman profit for his sponsors by adding a Tesla dealership. And thus, there is no Tesla dealership advertising dollars for Wallace.
Wallace supports the existing Texas laws that prevent manufacturer owned auto dealerships. As such, it can be alleged that as far was Wallace is concerned, if he cannot profit from Tesla, nobody in Texas should be able to purchase one locally. Is Wallace really an ally of the car consumer?
